It started with a middle school dance. Paul and a few friends saw an opportunity to do things differently: skip the cheese, bring real energy, and treat every event like it mattered. That philosophy turned birthday parties into weddings, and weddings into a reputation. Sound By Design was built on the belief that good music and good execution could raise the room.
2001
Torie came on as a high school freshman, working summers while his sister married the founder. What started as a side gig became a calling. He stayed through college, grew into the GM role, and helped scale the company into the region’s most trusted name in event entertainment. The approach stayed the same: anticipate needs, solve problems, keep the night moving seamlessly.
2020
Torie became the owner and reinvested everything back into the business. Sound By Design expanded beyond DJ into full-scale event production: lighting, staging, and technical execution designed as one cohesive vision. Not just a vendor. A creative partner from start to finish.
2026
Thirty years. Nine full-time employees. A new warehouse. A rebrand. The same commitment that started it all: design the entire experience, deliver it seamlessly, and make every moment feel intentional.
